New “non-essential” filings to resume in downstate New York

As announced today by Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks, new matters, previously classified as “non-essential,” can now be electronically filed in downstate New York (including New York City and Long Island) beginning Monday, May 25, 2020. Any new filings must be in accordance with Executive Order No. 202.28 which extended the moratorium on COVID-related evictions and foreclosures through August 20, 2020.
