HAF appreciation post!

The Homeowner Assistance Fund (“HAF”) is a federally-funded program (nearly $10 billion) established to assist homeowners facing foreclosure as a result of a hardship stemming from the pandemic. Since accepting applicants in January 2022, HAF has helped hundreds of thousands of homeowners resolve mortgage defaults caused by COVID-19.

Whether through reinstatements or loan modifications, my firm has helped several New Yorkers settle foreclosure matters with the assistance of state funds up to $95,000. While the New York State HAF application and waitlist are now closed, my firm is still is in communications with the Attorney General’s office regarding active and pending applications. In fact, I have had several phone calls with the state just this week regarding potential HAF awards for my clients. My office has had nothing but good experiences working with the Attorney General’s office and have had the pleasure of resolving numerous loan delinquencies with their help.

If you are contacted by the state for your HAF application, it is imperative that you respond and supplement with any requested documents as soon as possible as funds are drying up. If you have any questions or need assistance with your application, please contact my office to discuss. We know what we are doing.
